Welcome to Autism Talk
Autism Talk is dedicated to providing insights, advice, and thoughtful perspectives on autism and neurodiverse children. Drawing from my background as a former special education teacher and autism specialist, as well as my current role as parent to four quirky children, I offer tips, strategies, and advice to support families on their journey.
I'm truly passionate about all things related to neurodiversity and autism. My perspective on best practices in autism interventions is eclectic, informed by years of teaching, academic pursuits, and, most importantly, my own life. My educational journey includes a teaching degree from Wichita State University, a master's in special education and autism from KU, and I was working toward my Ph.D. while working at the University of Washington Autism Center, when I decided my twins needed my full attention.
So, whether you're a parent seeking guidance, a teacher looking for insights, or simply someone interested in the world of neurodiversity and autism, I invite you to join me on this journey. Together, we'll explore a multitude of perspectives and approaches to make this world a more inclusive and understanding place for all our neurodiverse loved ones.
